Roe at 35: An opportunity for movement-building

Today is the 35th anniversary of Roe V. Wade, the law the secures a woman's right to terminate a pregnancy. I am prochoice, and support any woman's access to a safe abortion. It is not genocide, it is not murder, it is not irresponsible.More broadly, I support the conditions of reproductive justice, of which the right to abortion is a part, but not the sum total. Reproductive justice recognizes:

a dubious distinction

I'm up a little late, watching a Nightline segment on violence in urban areas, how it's worse than it's been in a very long time. The segment is of the ER in Philadelphia at UPenn, where there were 300 + murders in 2007 from the gun violence. The reporter is inteviewing two ER doctors, one of them talking about repeat trauma victims who end up in the ER multiple times over a stretch: the first
